You will notice a lot about the Pentax K5 DSLR camera that reflects the constant efforts to achieve higher design capabilities. As with so many other areas of electronics and devices, the market always wants more capability. The first-time camera buyer can confidently learn how the K5 operates in very short order. People are surprised with their ability to use the K5 in a reasonably short amount of time even if they are new to everything. All of the hard work is designed into the Pentax K5 SLR, and that is why it is not hard to use or enjoy.
The foundation for many new functions is due to engineering changes involving CMOS circuitry that provides for more power. The image sensing capabilities are processed by a high performance imaging engine known as the PRIME II. The end result are images rich in gradations and very high resolution. Clear photos with stable resolution is attainable at a rate of taking seven photos every second. It is possible to do even more such as customizable features for expanding various settings. One thing that may be slightly deceptive about the K5 is its size. Modest dimensions define the K5, but of course that was all by design. But just pick it up and get a feel for the unexpected weight. Of course the weight is not excessive, it is just more than you may expect. The K5 chassis is made from stainless steel which will make it more durable. The body composition is lighter due to the magnesium alloy material employed. An all metal camera would be very rugged, but then it would also be too heavy. The K5 is advertised as being completely dust proof, and that is thanks to the almost eighty seals used throughout the camera.
The Pentax K5 will impress you, we think, with the number of stops available – fourteen in total. We are not sure how you feel about that, but we consider that impressive for many reasons. If you are fairly new to photography, then you can expect to feel pretty solid about these features. It actually would be difficult, we think to not be able to find something to like about the K5. If you like experimenting with ISO settings, then be sure to check out the low settings because the K5 can perform well there, too. You can shoot JPEG images, and there are modes that support it. However, if that is all you use, then you will not be taking advantage of all that is possible. The clear trend for digital photography is technological development, and the Pentax K5 is a perfect example of that. Digital cameras are a breeding ground for clever uses of technology. In the K5, you will see this evidenced in more programming capability. A huge part of the image processing lies with their algorithm for the imaging engine. What that provides for you are much better resolution and ability to grab the photos you want.
